Overview

Located adjacent to the Children's Park in Campal, Panjim, the Campal Lighthouse, though sadly neglected and frequently overlooked, is a cylindrical structure made of white concrete. Its existence is currently jeopardized by soil erosion along the riverbank where it stands. This lighthouse, aged at 41 years, proudly resides on the south bank of the Mandovi River, soaring to a height of 22 meters. Despite its inconspicuous presence to many passersby, it has dutifully served as a guiding light for barges, trawlers, and assorted vessels navigating the waters of the River Mandovi.
